An Arab’s Life...
The
Arabs live a very different life than you. However, Arabs don’t live in a
different way with each other, they share the same beliefs and values across
different nations. In fact Arabs are very conservative and are very polite and
hospitable and they usually have big families.
Arab women aren’t allowed to show any affection to anyone in public. Female Arabs aren’t allowed to show any part of their body except for their eyes, face and hands they may not wear an Abaya but it’s important to wear clothes that would cover their shoulders, knees, neck, arms, legs and hair, they also can’t wear any tight or revealing clothes in public because this is considered immodest and undignified in the Arab culture. When greeting other people women don’t kiss, but instead she shakes hands with them using her fingers, no one is allowed to kiss a women’s hand or touch her palms. In addition to that, when greeting a foreigner it is the woman’s choice to either shake hands or not. When swimming, women still wear swim suits but only the ones that cover their head and their body.
As a male you also can’t show any affection to anyone, men aren’t allowed to kiss, flirt, hit-on, hug or even talk in private with Arab women as it will endanger their safety. Men are also not allowed to stare or maintain eye contact with Arab women. Arab men greet by shaking hands gently and pulling towards each other to greet him with a kiss on either cheek and they may also hold each other’s hands and walk in different places. After shaking hands, placing the right hand on the heart is a sign of respect and sincerity. Furthermore, kissing the nose, forehead or the right hand of a person significant extreme respect.
Both Arab men and women are supposed to use their right hand to shake hands as the left hand is considered unclean. Furthermore, Muslims Arabs have to pray 5 times a day, they are supposed to stop anything their doing and must pray.
